  Second International Biennale of Graphic Digital Arts - Gdynia 2010 is the second presentation of works in digital media addressed to the artists from home and abroad.
I  Biennale has gained immense popularity and has shown that digital image is currently one of the fastest growing areas of art.
The purpose of the International Biennial of Graphic Digital Arts is to analyse and evaluate the phenomenon of the medium of digital graphics. This is to be attained through displaying the best achievements in this field. The exhibition is based on the assumption, that the event will become a common ground for artistic exploration, where exchange of views and experience as well as openness to experiment will contribute to the development in this highly innovative field.

REGULATIONS

  • Only professional artists – graduates of higher artistic schools, excluding bachelors, may take part in the Biennial.
  • Competitors may submit up to two, previously non-awarded works owned by the authors. The size of the prints to be displayed cannot exceed 1.5 m on the longer side. Items and multimedia installations will be not admitted.
  • Combined techniques are allowed, but the digital processing should be dominant.
  • The works will be qualified on the basis of submitted electronic files delivered on digital data carriers in two versions: the original size and a preview version of 72 dpi, size up to 1500 pixels along the longer side, JPG file - format.

 

For the printing of the catalogue, please enclose a CMYK colour version, sized 18x18cm, TIFF or JPG file format, of the resolution of 300 dpi. The CD must be described with the author’s name and titles of works in polish and english.
The photos must be good quality (colour, focus, contrast) – as they will be used (with no fee payable) as illustrations for the printed catalogue. Sent-in data carriers are not returnable.

  • The registration form should be sent along with a photocopy of the paying-in slip for the amount of:

- 80 PLN for Polish competitors
- 80 € for foreign competitors, including the cost of return shipment

These monies will be used to cover organisational expenses and printing of a catalogue and are not recoverable in the case ineligible for exhibition

  • A filled-in and signed registration form with photocopy of proof of payment and digital media should be sent to the ERA ART Association’s address

  • A two-stage qualification process will be carried out by a four person jury:
  • professor Jan Pamula – Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow (President of the Jury)
  • professor Alina Jackiewicz-Kaczmarek – Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk
  •  professor. Mirosław Pawłowski – Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań
  •  professor. Adam Romaniuk – Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice

          
The minutes of the deliberations will be made public and the authors will be notified about the outcome by e-mail.

  • Admitted works should be delivered unframed and properly protected in      tubes or other appropriate packaging (according to the transport conditions as offered by mail service or a courier company). On the reverse of each work, there should be attached a filled-in identification label cut-out from the registration form.
  • During the second stage, the jury will grant awards and distinctions for the submitted works. The jury’s decisions are final and indisputable.
  • The works sent by mail service should be carefully wrapped and secured; the organizers shall not be held responsible for any possible damage.
  • The organizers reserve the right to publish works submitted to the Biennial in media and publications which promote the event with no fee payable to the authors.
  • All competitors will be given a free-of-charge copy of the Biennial Catalogue.
  • After the exhibition, the works of national artists will be returned by mail service (poczta polska) at the competitors’ expense, cash on delivery. Normally, the parcels will be sent as non-value items; the insurance cost is to be covered by the author upon prior arrangement with the organizers.

The works of artists from abroad will be returned at the expense of the organizer by mail Polish (without insurance works). Taking into account the requirements of Polish mail note that the length of the parcels does not exceed 140 cm.

  • 23 – 24 September -  deadline for sending works to the following address:

  • 30 September 2010 – second jury meeting, distribution of awards and  distinctions,
  • 02 October 2010 – digital art opening,
  • 31 October 2010 – final exhibition,
  • 03-04 November – return of works after the exhibition.
